Who we are:

            We started our Youth Group in 2003.  At that time, we didn’t have a name for our group.  We just called ourselves “the Youth”.   We started off with a couple of youth and a handful of leaders.  There were times when the leaders outnumbered the youth!!!

     By the summer of 2004 – we were wondering if the youth was going to succeed.  We had lost a couple of leaders, and there were times when we would only have one youth at the meeting.  That was the first year that the leaders and the youth that were attending went to IMPACT.  What a great event!

    Now, in the fall of 2006, we currently have 20+ members of the youth.  In 2005, we officially named ourselves “The Seekers of Christ”.  For IMPACT of 2005, we even had t-shirts made up so that all who were around would know who we are!

    When do we meet?  We meet each and every Sunday from 6-7:30PM in the upstairs room (Youth Room) of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church.

    Who can come?  EVERYONE who is in Jr. or Sr. High School – or college – can come and join us.

    Do you have to be a member of the Methodist Church?  No – we would love for you to have a church you regularly attend, even if it isn’t the Methodist Church.  We have members that go to other churches and some that do not attend any at all. 

     What do you do at the meetings?  We do a biblical lesson each week – something that will help to guide in the journey of life.  After that, we have fun…

     Do you always stay at the church?  Heavens, NO!!  We have taken many day trips around the area to see what is happening with other groups (trips to Houtzdale for a fun day, seminar at Bellefonte, Praise & Worship at Allport, concerts at Bryce Jordan and DelGrosso’s)

We also take trips that are more than one day – like IMPACT which is a four day event where we camp and fellowship with hundreds of youth from all over the area, and we even went with several other groups to Acquire the Fire in Pittsburg for a huge arena event. 

     Do you ever do anything in this church?  YES!  We have held a Youth Rally that was lead by the group from Questhaven Lodge in Tyrone, and are having another event in October.  We also try to have a lock-in once a year, where we spend the night in the church, play games, watch movies and have lots of fun.

     How do the youth pay for going to events?  We do several fundraisers throughout the year to help pay for any event we attend.  We keep an accounting of each member and how much they earn.  That is their account to use for any event.

Recent happenings: 

We painted our Youth Room and are working toward decorating the walls. 

We are currently selling 2007 calendars.  They are available from any youth or youth leader.
